Yes, that is for tax purposes, and to determine if you are required to have emissions inspections or not. But this in NC and you have to know, or you volition quickly learn that taxes and fees are the driving strength behind all NC laws and regulations. NC the land that has never seen a taxation they didn't love.

Do you mean going to a License Plate office in Durham Co rather than Wake Co? I don't think information technology matters which office you go to. The taxes are based on where y'all alive, non where you lot register your car. Northgate (Durham) seems to be more than crowded than the 1 at Due south Hills (Cary)

Yeah I was going to go to ane in Wake rather than in Durham, I figured I might get to talk to a supervisor - as it turns out, I got in touch on with a very friendly sympathetic person at the FL DMV who will correct my incorrect registration and I can register my auto, finally!

I am actually going to ship her a gift bill of fare for this

I don't think it matters either. Lots of us here in Leland (Brunswick Co) go over to Wilmington which is New Hanover Co to get our DL and tags. It's virtually 8-12 miles that way but if nosotros had to get to the nearest i in Brunswick, heck, I'g not even sure WHERE that one is, didn't bother to even find out. I retrieve it's a proficient xxx miles away. Liz

I concur. My last vehicle registration (2005) was done in Mecklenburg County and the previous ane (2002) was done in Forsyth Canton. Never lived in or remotely near either county.
